Tulsa Public School Board will not make a move on the superintendent search this week, according to Tulsa Public Schools.

The board spent the weekend in two special meetings interviewing the finalists for a third time, and deliberating the candidates' qualifications.

They were expected to address the issue in a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, but public spokesperson Christopher Payne said Sunday that the decision will be postponed until at least February 2.

Last week, the school board announced Deborah Gist and Millard House II as the finalists. Gist is the Commissioner of Education for the Rhode Island Department of Education. House is the Chief Operating Officer at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC. House was formerly the Deputy Superintendent at Tulsa Public Schools.

The school board has been searching for the next superintendent because Superintendent Keith Ballard is retiring June 30.

The special meeting scheduled for Monday has been canceled.
