Man Dead In Bixby House Fire

Bixby firefighters found a man's body inside a house that burned Friday morning.

The home is located in the 7300 block of East 118th Street. Bixby Fire Chief Bryan Wood says firefighters arrived at the home just after 3 a.m. to find the entire structure on fire.

Wood says during a search, firefighters located a man's body. He did not release the victim's age.  

Wood said it appears the fire had been burning for quite some time before they were called. He says the state Fire Marshal's Office has sent an investigator to help determine the cause.

Wood says the home was a total loss.

The victim's name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
