State Prison Escapee Captured In Tulsa After Police Chase

An inmate who escaped from a state prison in Okfuskee County is in the Tulsa County jail after a brief Tulsa Police chase late Wednesday.

An inmate who escaped from a state prison in Okfuskee County is in the Tulsa County jail after a brief Tulsa Police chase late Wednesday.

Christopher Rowe, 24, of Tulsa escaped from the John Lilley Correctional Center in Boley on December 31, 2014.

Authorities believed he had returned to the Tulsa area and about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers spotted Rowe driving an SUV near Latimer and Sandusky and attempted to pull him over. After a short chase, Rowe was arrested. 

Rowe was booked into jail on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm, eluding, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.  He is being held without bond.

Rowe was serving time in prison for several Tulsa County convictions including possession of explosives by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of methamphetamine.
