Tulsa Police say the shooting of a woman who was out walking was not a random incident.
Officers said they responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of North Norwood at about 2 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim, who is in her early 20s, told officers she was walking to a friend's home when a white, four-door car pulled up and someone inside shot her in the ankle then drove away.
Police believe the victim knew the shooter and the shooting had stemmed from an earlier incident. Officers believe they know who the shooter is but haven't released a name. They recovered a shell casing at the scene.
EMSA took the victim to the hospital. Officers said she is expected to recover after surgery.
