It's less than two weeks away from the grand opening of a new, state-of-the-art movie theater in Broken Arrow.
The luxury Warren Theater will have a restaurant, bar and 18 of the biggest movie screens in the country for people to enjoy. ?
Two of the screens are the biggest in our area, and on Thursday morning, workers installed one of them. Thirty members of the Warren staff put on white gloves to raise the first screen, which stands six stories tall and weighs 600 pounds.
It's about the size of a basketball court. It's also different from a typical movie screen, because it's curved. Warren said that provides for a better picture for the audience.
"It wraps around and it immerses you, and so besides being such a large screen, it also covers your peripheral vision,” Bill Warren said. “And then keep in mind there's 64 channels of sound in the auditorium."
A theater like it seats 550 people.
If you want to check it out for yourself, the grand opening is December 17. The theater is located on 121st between Aspen and Elm.
