The Dennis R. Neill Equality Center hosted a Thanksgiving Day meal for Tulsans who didn't have anywhere else to go Thursday.

Several area churches joined the Equality Center in providing a free Thanksgiving Day meal to anyone who needed a welcoming place to go.

The director of the center says the "Come Home for the Holidays" dinner tried to replicate Grandma's Thanksgiving for those who might not be welcome at the family table.

One man we spoke to said he had plans for the holiday, but they fell through at the last minute.

"It's great to be around people that are family, even if they don't know you," said Rob Detrick.

The director of the center says they especially have a lot to be thankful for this year.
