Tulsa will return to the NCAA Tournament this year. The Hurricanes are 11-5-3 overall, and were 5-2-1 in the American season.

The Golden Hurricanes will travel to Missouri to take on St. Louis in the NCAA Championship first round. The game kicks off at the Hermann Stadium Thursday, November 20, at 7:00 p.m.

TU senior midfielder Abé Matamoros was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week Tuesday, November 18.

Matamoros helped Tulsa win the American Athletic Conference Championship. He scored the game winning goal against SMU, for a 2-0 win in the semi-finals. He later scored the final penalty kick that defeated the University of South Florida for the title.

Matamoros was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the American Tournament, and was named to the All-Tournament team.

This season, senior forward Akeil Barrett and sophomore midfielder Ray Saari both have a team best of six goals and 14 points. Senior forward Austin Neil isn't far behind with three goals and five assists. Sophomore midfielder Cameron Drackett has contributed four goals and three assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Jake McGuire picked up 65 saves, while fellow sophomore goalkeeper Brandon Hanat has 13.

Tulsa met up with St. Louis earlier this year in their season opener, losing 1-0. The Billikens shut TU down in the final third, and now lead them 7-4 in their all-time series.
