Officials believe the City of Tulsa is ready for winter. On Wednesday morning, city leaders laid out the preparations they've made to clear streets and roads.
Tulsa has 63 truck-mounted sand and salt spreaders, and 46 have plow blades.
When winter weather hits - 170 employees are ready to go to work. They have 35 different routes, covering more than 1,700 miles.
Tulsa already has 8,000 tons of salt with 5,000 more tons on order.
That's enough to handle an average winter in Tulsa, officials said.
Expressways maintained by the city, along with Tulsa's busiest streets, will be treated first. Roads leading to schools and hospitals also are a top priority.
