More than 1,700 world-class horses are in Tulsa to compete for a championship title.
The Arabian U.S. Nationals at the fairgrounds and has the new details on how it boosts the Green Country economy.
Hundreds of people are expected to come out for this event. They'll be able to see horses like William Tell. The horses will be competing in competitions such as reigning, driving and native costume.
Now each of these horses will ultimately be competing for the honor of being crowned U.S. national champion.
This is the Arabian horse association most prestigious North American championship.
Also more than 1800 exhibitors will be at the event, so guests can experience some world-class shopping.
Now this is an event that brings in close to $40 million for the city.
Most of that comes from exhibitors lodging, eating and refueling in the Tulsa metro area.
The event will be going on for nine days.
"We generally start at 8 in the morning and go until later in the evening sometimes 8, 9,10 in the evening anytime during the day,” grounds supervisor Matt Amsden said. “Everybody is welcome."
Now this event is open to the public and admission is free.
