A Dewey man charged with first-degree rape by instrumentation of an underage child remains in the Washington County jail on a $100,000 bond.
Prosecutors charged Joshua Beeman, 36, on October 14, 2014 following an investigation by Dewey Police.
In a court affidavit, the 11-year-old girl told her father and police Beeman had on two separate occasions touched her in her "bad spot." The girl said she told Beeman "he was hurting her by touching her."
Dewey Police Investigator Tim Stringer said when questioned, Beeman denied touching the child.
A judge ordered Beeman to jail pending an October 24, 2014 court appearance.
