The University of Tulsa announced Tuesday morning the name for its new dorm is Hardesty Hall. The other 100,000 square-foot dorm has space for 310 students as well as more classroom and office space.

The dormitory was funded in part by the Hardesty Family Foundation.

"The university has been blessed for many, many years to have the support of philanthropists in Tulsa," President Steadman Upham.

"This is just another chapter in that book, and we could not possibly have done everything we've done in the last decade or more without the support of these foundations and individuals."

Just a year ago, TU was so strapped for dorm space over 100 of its students lived in a downtown Tulsa hotel. The new Hardesty Hall will be ready next summer - just in time for the class of 2015.
