This week's cooler temperatures have a lot of people thinking about fall foliage. News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot put together a map showing the estimated peak times for fall foliage across the U.S.
This week, the colors of autumn are at their best in Colorado and upper New England.
Closer to home, Faurot's map shows the colors of fall will be at their best in Kansas and Missouri during the second half of October and trees in Arkansas and Oklahoma will peak the first half of November.
The Oklahoma Department of Tourism lists a number of locations across eastern Oklahoma where you can see the landscape explode with autumn colors this year. The list includes central Osage County, around Oologah Lake, eastern Cherokee County and of course Talimena National Scenic Byway in southeast Oklahoma.
The state of Arkansas will begin posting updates on fall foliage this week on its tourism web site.
