A group working to get storm shelters in every Oklahoma public school will be in Tulsa to collect signatures for its petition. "Take Shelter Oklahoma" has until October 20 to collect the signatures they need.
Members of the group were in Tulsa Tuesday to talk about efforts to get more signatures in eastern Oklahoma. The group says the Tulsa State Fair - which starts Thursday - is the perfect place to get the signatures they need.
So far they have fewer than 100,000 signatures. The group needs 160,000 signatures from registered voters to get the measure on a statewide ballot. It's the second time they've organized a storm shelter petition drive since the Moore tornado that killed seven school children in May of last year.

Danni Legg lost her son in the tornado. She says schools in Oklahoma need to be prepared for tornadoes so what happened to her son won't happen to anyone else.
"This is the best alternative that we have - is to get the petition signed to move forward as a state and get safe rooms in each and every school in Oklahoma," Legg said.
The group plans to be at the fair every day. You can find them walking around with petitions and at two booths at the fairgrounds.
