A Stringtown woman died almost a month after a head-on collision in Atoka County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol issued an update Tuesday after the death of Shaina Nicole Settlemires, 25.

Troopers say the Stringtown resident was westbound on State Highway 7 on August 15, 2014, when an eastbound pickup crossed the center line and hit her 2003 Volkswagen Bug.

Settlemires was flown by medical helicopter to Tulsa in critical condition. The driver of the pickup, 25-year-old Tristan Bond of Centrahoma, was taken to a Tulsa hospital in serious condition.

Troopers listed the cause of the collision as inattention.

Settlemires, who sustained head and internal injuries, died late Sunday, a collision report states.
