Unit Corporation Holds Ground Breaking For New South Tulsa Headquarters

Unit Corporation held a ground breaking ceremony for its new corporate headquarters. The new location will be on 30 acres at the southwest corner of 81st Street and Highway 75. 

"Always had very deep roots in Tulsa, and we're just digging them a little deeper," said Larry Pinkston, Unit Corporation president and CEO.

Unit was formed in 1963 when two men purchased a three-rig drilling company from Woolarock Oil company. They added to the business over the years, diversifying into subsidiaries in the exploration for and production of oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids.

They have onshore oil and natural gas wells with operations primarily located in Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming, according to their 2013 annual report.

Unit Corporation employs more than 350 people in Tulsa and a total of 2,700 people nationwide.
