Tulsa Police say a mentally-challenged teen who disappeared from a south side apartment complex Wednesday night has been found safe.

Christopher Marlon-Nilson Perry, 14, was last seen at the South Slope apartments in the 6200 block of East 72nd Street at about 7 p.m. Wednesday. Police say they were notified at about 10:30 p.m.

Police officer Leland Ashley said Perry has the mental capacity of a 3- to 4-year old.

According to Broken Arrow Police, he walked from his apartment to Aspen and Kenosha where he spent the night on a bench at a bus stop. A man out for a walk Thursday morning recognized him from media reports and called police at about 7 a.m.

The Broken Arrow officer who responded confirmed the boy's identity, stopped at McDonald's to get him something to eat then brought him to the police station so he could be reunited with his family.

Tulsa Police said the photo the family provided was actually several years old, but the family said Perry still looks the same.
