A Tulsa man allegedly held his toddler son in his arms to keep police from using a taser on him Friday during a domestic disturbance call.

Chance Jonathan Taylor's girlfriend told officers he choked her until she passed out and then kept her from leaving their apartment on South Joplin Avenue. When police arrived at the residence, they say Taylor refused to follow their commands then held up a blanket "to defeat a taser deployment."

After an officer pulled down the blanket, the 27-year-old man picked up his toddler son and held him up instead, according to the arrest report.

The arresting officer said they managed to get the boy away, and Taylor continued to struggle until they tased him twice.

The girlfriend had visible injuries with scratches and contusions on her face and neck and an eye that was swollen almost shut, according to an arrest report.

Taylor is in jail on complaints of domestic assault and battery by strangulation, kidnapping, resisting arrest, domestic assault and battery and assault on a police officer.
