Police say a 28-year old man died after his pickup crashed into a rock wall in west Tulsa overnight.
Officers say the Ford was headed west on Pine at about midnight at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the "T" intersection of Pine and Gilcrease Museum Road.
EMSA paramedics pronounced James Myrvang dead at the scene.
Police also believe alcohol played a part in the crash.
"I've worked in this area for three years now and this is the first collision of the magnitude, that I've seen at this intersection," said Tulsa Police Cpl. Tami Manz.
Police said a witness reported the truck on fire after the crash. Corporal Manz said that witness had put the fire out by the time firefighters arrived.
