Opie, an orange tabby cat in Bartlesville, is using Social media to help street cats in Washington County. Opie is a big-eyed, semi-reformed former street cat.

He came to the shelter as a kitten.

"I think he's almost 4," said Dawnette Brady, President of the Washington County SPCA board.

Opie had been trapped, and they noticed he was a split personality cat: sweet but with a destructive side that earned him the nickname "master of disaster."

Dawnette posted videos of some of his antics and friends wanted more. They told her she needed to start his own page on Facebook. She thought the idea was ridiculous, at first.

"The thought was, if you could increase awareness that some street cats can be tamed and live somewhat domesticated lives, it might help the shelter," she said.

So Opie has his own Facebook page, and last I checked has almost 13,000 likes. Folks have checked in from all over the country - and foreign countries too.
