First Saturday Means Street Market In Coweta

It was the first Saturday of the month, and in Coweta that means the Saturday Street Market on Sycamore.

They call it one part farmer's market and one part flea market.

There's locally-grown fresh produce along with homemade crafts available for purchase. This month, there was also live music from a local country artist.

Organizers say it's a chance for neighbors to meet and do something different on the weekend.

"It's a chance for people to get together and enjoy local food and local produce - and come to appreciate the civic life of downtown, a small downtown," said Greg Collins, a member of the Downtown Activities Committee in Coweta.

The next Saturday Street Market is September 6.
