Downtown Luxury Living Continues To Expand In Tulsa

TULSA, Oklahoma - A unique brand of luxury living comes to downtown Tulsa. It's high-end real estate, but you'll be sleeping in a Murphy bed in the one-of-a-kind condos.

It's an unexpected location for owning a home, nestled between a parking garage and a street, but those in charge of the project said the 18 unique properties are a way to promote a streamlined kind of lifestyle.

Developer Joe Westervelt said, "This hasn't been rehearsed or tried before."

It's a trial in a different kind of space.

"There's not much that's not unique about it. The site itself is a site that was overlooked and sat dormant for nine years. So finding this small space, small sliver of property to utilize, was a bit unique and a bit different," Westervelt said.

Living areas may be minimal, but the builder hopes high end finishes and new technologies will attract those looking to invest in owning a home close to the activity of downtown.

A lifestyle traditionally attractive to young professionals, but Westervelt said it's not just young people who are seeking a new way of life.

"We're getting empty nesters, retirees, recent divorcees; we seem to be getting a very mixed group of people that are interested in urban living downtown," he said.

It’s a downtown developing at an ever growing rate.

The owners said they've coordinated with the Tulsa Development Authority and the Parking Authority in order to use parking inside the garage specifically for residents.

They said construction should be complete by mid-September.
