Vandals damaged an important piece of equipment at Tulsa Raceway Park.
The track says it had to spend $6,800 to replace the track’s timing equipment after vandals broke into a storage building this week. It happened at the Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park at 3101 North Garnett Road.
Vandals destroyed a red, yellow and green light tree, which is a critical part of the track’s timing system used in races.
The track was planning to use the equipment in this weekend’s Wendy’s Monster Truck Mud Down in T-Town event. It's offered a $500 reward for information about the vandals.
The race track is taking donations to help pay for the new light tree.
The track's web page says the vandalism hit them hard adding, “it's money we don't really have.”
The Mud Down in T-Town event is Friday and Saturday. Tickets for the two day event are available on the track’s web page.
