Tulsa Gang Unit Officers Make Arrests, Recover Stolen Assault Rifles, Ammo

Tulsa Police's Gang Unit intercepted weapons that had been stolen and were reportedly on the way to the hands of street gang members, according to a release from the Tulsa Police.

They arrested three adults and a juvenile as a result. Jorod Knowles, 18; Paige Lottinville, 18, and 19-year-old Jalen Rawlings were taken into custody.

Gang unit officers stopped a vehicle around 2800 South Garnett at about 2:15 p.m. July 12, 2014, and found two assault rifles in the car. They learned those weapons - and other firearms, ammunition and a ballistic vest - had been stolen from a vehicle early that same day.

During their investigation, the officers say they learned the people in the car were on their way to sell the rifles to gang members. They also learned the people in the vehicle had additional weapons at their residence which was in the 7300 block of East 61st Place, a short distance away from the vehicle that had been burglarized earlier that day. 

Police say it was not a police car that was burglarized.

Gang Unit officers found a total of nine firearms, a ballistic vest and ammunition.

Knowles was booked on complaints of burglary from a vehicle and eight counts of concealing stolen property. Lottinville was booked for eight counts of concealing stolen property and misdemeanor warrants. Rawlings was arrested for six counts of concealing stolen property and resisting arrest.
