Three people were shot during a fight near a Tulsa park Tuesday evening.
Police said it happened near Lacy Park around 6 o'clock Tuesday evening, but there was a heavy police presence at the McDonald’s at Pine and North Peoria, because that's where the victims were dropped off after the shooting.
Sergeant Dave Walker said it appears the incident began as a fist fight that escalated to the use of baseball bats. He said the brother of a woman in the fight pulled a gun from his mother's purse and started shooting, hitting three people.
Police know who the man is and want him to meet with them so they can determine if he was acting in self defense.
Officers said once they arrived they called EMSA to take the victims to the hospital. Police said the female victim is in critical condition while the two male victims have non-life threatening injuries.
People in the area told us they were rattled.
“All one can really do is be more observant and be aware of your surroundings. I guess it could have gone on in that house, my house. You just kinda have to know your neighbors,” said resident Clifford Thomas.
