The Tulsa Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted for robbing a Dollar General Saturday morning.

It happened around 8 a.m. Saturday at the Dollar General, located at 3920 S. Garnett Road.

According to Tulsa police, a female employee had just arrived to open the store when a man approached the door, tapped on the window and pointed a gun at her, forcing her to open the door.

The employee told police the suspect held her at gunpoint while he stole cash from the safe and other items including deodorant and cigarettes.

Authorities said the suspect fled on foot, and a Tulsa Police Department canine tracked him about a block away to a neighborhood near E. 39th Street. The dog then lost the suspect's scent, and police believe he may have left in a vehicle from that area.

Based on the victim's identification of the suspect, police are searching for a young, Hispanic man covered completely in black clothing, including a black rag over his face and carrying a black pistol.
