The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an intoxicated driver headed the wrong way on I-244 in west Tulsa crashed into a SUV late Monday.

Troopers said Jana Smith, 25, of Broken Arrow was going west in the eastbound lanes when her Honda struck a Ford SUV head-on at about 33rd West Avenue just before 11 p.m.

Both Smith and a mother and her two children in the SUV were taken to a Tulsa hospital by EMSA.

The OHP says Smith was arrested at the hospital after being treated for minor injuries and taken to the Tulsa County jail. The OHP says the mom and her two children are expected to be okay.

Troopers said Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies first attempted to stop Smith's car going the wrong way on the Broken Arrow Expressway, but it continued westbound onto I-244.

When questioned, troopers said Smith admitted to drinking rum and taking Xanax earlier in the day.

Smith was booked into jail on complaints of DUI, causing a collision while DUI, driving the wrong way and attempting to elude.

Jail records show her bond was $1,600 with a court appearance set for June 24, 2014.
