She's the baby who wouldn't wait.

Zayleigh Butler -- a 7-pound, 8-ounce bundle of joy -- was born on Tuesday. She came so quickly, her dad didn't even have time to pull over the car.

A moving car comes with certain dangers, and the front seat doesn't look like a delivery room. But one mom made it work when her baby came two weeks early.

Ten little fingers, 10 little toes and a quiet little cry that makes her mom's heart sing.

"I'm just glad she's OK, and she's healthy," mom Jade said.

You might call Zayleigh the impatient type. She was due June 17, but she decided she was ready for the world to welcome her two weeks early.

"This is gonna be our last baby, and she definitely came out with a bang, left a big story," Jade said.

Jade lives in Norman, and the newborn's dad just recently moved to Tulsa for a job. Jade was in town visiting when she woke up feeling pain and pressure.

"By the time she stands up, her water breaks, so I run back inside, grab the keys, grab clothes and pull the car up to the yard, put her in," dad Curtis Butler said. "She wasn't gonna stay 'til we got into the hospital. I was trying, I was trying to keep her in, but she wasn't gonna let me."

By the time the couple got to the Yale Avenue bridge over Interstate 244, they were only about a mile from where they were staying. But they had 3 more miles to go before they were at the hospital, and it was there that their time ran out.

"We weren't stopping," Jade said. "I just kicked my shorts off as fast as I could; I mean, I could feel her coming. So I just pushed her on out and caught her and did what I thought I needed to do."

When Jade saw her daughter for the first time in the passenger seat of the moving car, her happiness was overshadowed with fear.

The umbilical cord was wrapped around Zayliegh's neck. She wasn't crying or breathing.

"I started breathing into her mouth so I could get her to scream or something, some sign that she was OK," Jade said. "That's why it was scary, cause whenever you look at her, whenever she was first born and she's purple, you don't know if she's gonna make it."

For a baby who wouldn't wait, it was mom who couldn't wait to hear the quiet cries that now bring tears of joy.

Jade gave birth five years ago to a 10-pound baby boy.

She was in labor with him for 14 hours.

And on Thursday, she'll be back in the passenger seat again headed back to Norman.
