More than 1,000 dogs participated in the Roundup Dog Show at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds on Saturday.

Breeds were entered into three different categories, conformation, obedience and rally.

Most shows only include the conformation portion which is like a beauty pageant for dogs until one is crowned best in show.

"Well what the judge is looking for is the movement of the dog, the temperament of the dog and the conformation of the dog," Linda Clark said. "So that's why they go over and they touch and they feel their feeling for the structure and the muscles, and then they get them to move so they can see how their movement and carriage is."

Dog lovers also could walk through the grooming area and learn about the different breeds.
