Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies arrested a couple after the couple's pit bull dog bit two children in their home on May 16, 2014 and May 19, 2014.
Deputies say they questioned Joshua Zegarzewski, 30, and Veronica Cornelius, 34, at their home on North Industrial in Sand Springs on May 20, 2014. Both confirmed the dog had bitten two children in the home.
An arrest report stated the first child had several lacerations to the face that were red and swollen. The second child had several scratches that were red and bleeding. The report does not say if the suspects are the parents of the children.
Deputies say the couple also admitted to using meth. A search of the home turned up drug paraphernalia and marijuana in a bedroom closet.
Deputies said they called in EMSA to treat the children's wounds before the children were placed into DHS protective custody.
Deputies booked Joshua Zegarzewski and Veronica Cornelius into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jail records show Zegarzewski was being held in lieu of $110,250 bond and Cornelius was being held in lieu of $160,250 bond. Both are scheduled to be in court on May 28, 2014.
Deputies said Tulsa County Animal Control took the dog away and will quarantine it for 10 days.
