Tipster Reveals Ex-Husband Is Tulsa Sexual Assault Suspect

It's been three years since Kyle Hancock was convicted of lewd acts on a minor in Creek County.

The painful experience the victim and her mother faced are what Tulsa police said helped track down the accused rapist.

Officers said Hancock admitted he molested a 5-year-old girl early Saturday morning.

"I wish I'd never met him," said Angela, the mother of one of Hancock's victims.

It's been quite some time since Angela has seen Kyle Hancock face-to-face, but she's seen the video of him cuffed with two police escorts.

"He looks just like a monster to me now," said Angela. "I don't even see how I ever saw him in any other way than a monster."

Angela was married to Hancock for four years.

She filed for divorce when her daughter revealed Hancock had touched her inappropriately several times.

"She was only 11 at the time, it was hard to believe, it was like, 'Oh my God, really?' because I knew him for so long," said the mother. "I trusted him completely, did not even imagine he would be like that."

That's when Angela was faced with one of the toughest decisions she's ever had to make; ask her daughter to relive those painful moments in court on the witness stand or agree to a plea deal to protect her daughter.

"She did not ever want to see him in the court, she didn't want to talk about it, she didn't want to have anything to do with, and I wanted to make sure she didn't have anything to do with it," Angela said.

She agreed to the deal, a decision that will forever haunt her now.

"Looking back now I wish I would have pushed forward more, I wish I would have just said, ‘Throw him in jail forever,' or something," Angela said.

A Creek County judge sentenced Hancock to three years of probation, ordered him to register as a sex offender for life and to get treatment.

"I never thought he would go as far as he's gone, ever, not even after the plea deal," said Angela. "I never thought he could ever go that far, I wouldn't think anybody could."

But after years of counseling and the most recent accusations, Angela said she's come to a different conclusion.

"I don't think it's fixable. I don't think you can fix that," she said.

Records show Hancock only completed seven weeks of treatment, then got arrested for driving with a suspended license.

His probation officer asked the judge Hancock to revoke the probation and send Hancock to prison.

Police say a warrant was out for Hancock's arrest when he sexually assaulted the 5-year-old. In the meantime, he had moved to Tulsa County, just around the corner from his alleged victim.

"She was five years old and that was just killing me," said Angela. "She's a little, bitty girl and I just couldn't believe anybody could do that to a 5-year-old girl."

Hancock is in jail again, thanks to Angela's intuition.

"I got to the News On 6 story and I clicked and I was reading it and I was like, 'Oh my God'," she said.

Angela said she read the suspect description on our website and there was not a doubt in her mind Hancock was the man."The mother gave an awesome description, a perfect description that totally matched him," said Angela. "He always wore striped shirts, he had these green shorts he always wore to relax in, he was bald and 5'9" and 30 years old."

Then, when she discovered the victim's house was within walking distance of Hancock's mother's, Angela called police.

"I just had that gut feeling and it hurt and I was just like, ‘I just know this has to be him' and it was like so painful in my gut," Angela said.

While the arrest has brought back painful memories, it's also giving Hancock's former victim a new sense of security.

"She [Angela's daughter] said, ‘Mom, I'm just really proud of you for getting him off the street'," Angela said. "I am glad and she's glad. He needs to stay off the streets."

Angela said she hopes there are no plea deals for Hancock this time around, instead she wants to see her ex-husband spend the rest of his life in jail.

"He needs to never ever get out again or death," she said.
