A minor wreck turned into a wild fight in north Tulsa early Saturday, police said.
A small pickup collided with a Mercedes coupe at a Taco Bell, drivers exchanged information, but the driver of the Mercedes said the other man had phony insurance. He tried to stop him but he drove away, according to police.
The two people in the Mercedes chased the two people in the pickup throughout the neighborhood, and the pickup eventually crashed in a ditch on North Wheeling.
Police said the occupants of both vehicles got out, and the driver of the pickup produced a BB or Airsoft pistol and shot toward the men in the Mercedes.
An officer on the scene said the men in the Mercedes ran off, then realized it wasn't a real gun, so they came back and the group began fighting.
The driver of the pickup reportedly got into the Mercedes, took off and bumped the owner/driver of the Mercedes with his own car. The Mercedes owner reportedly jumped halfway in the car, still fighting with the man in his car.
Two blocks down the road, the Mercedes ran off the road, hit a ditch and ended up in the middle of a field.
The driver of the pickup ran away, and he was still at large at last check.
The officer said when the driver is caught, he will be facing charges of hit and run, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (with a gun and a car) and auto theft.
