A Pennsylvania trucking company announced Friday it has signed a letter of intent to purchase the assets of a Poteau trucking firm.
PGT Trucking, a flatbed carrier said in a news release, it hopes to complete the deal to buy Kelworth Trucking's assets by early May.
The release states Scotty Jones, president of Kelworth Trucking and his son Jeff Jones will join PGT as part of its management team.
"The addition of Kelworth is strategic in several ways, "said Gregg Troian, president of PGT.
"Most importantly though, are the drivers and the facility location. These two important aspects of the acquisition provide strength to PGT by adding to our proud professional driver base and filling a void in the operating network."
PGT Trucking says Kelworth has been in business for over 25 years and operates about 100 trucks. PGT Trucking is headquartered in Monaca, Pennsylvania and has over 1,000 trucks and 1,500 flatbed trailers.
Details of the deal were not released.
