A Grove realtor has been charged with child molestation after a teenage boy came forward. The Delaware County sheriff told us the boy is not the only victim.
The sheriff said since Don Smith got booked into the Delaware County Jail, three more teenage boys have come forward, saying Smith abused them.
The sheriff thinks there could be even more victims out there.
A farm is where the Delaware County sheriff Harlan Moore, said at least four teenage boys were molested.
"This is something that's been going on for years and years and not been reported," Moore said.
Smith, a 77-year-old Grove realtor, was charged with lewd molestation, two counts of forcible sodomy and obscene or indecent writings or pictures.
An affidavit states Smith asked a 15-year-old boy to work on his farm, and when Smith picked him up for work, he began telling stories about sexual encounters he had with other boys he took to his farm.
The affidavit goes on to state that Smith threatened the boy with a gun, saying, "What happens at the farm stays at the farm."
The boy, now 18-years-old, told deputies he and Smith had oral sex, "Over a hundred times."
"It's an embarrassing type of thing, but it took guts on the person who came forward," said Moore.
The affidavit states Smith admitted his relationship with that boy, but said, "He's the only one I've touched."
"I can't say for sure this is an isolated event. Doesn't sound like it is. It sounds like this has been ongoing for some time," said Moore.
A mother of a Grove 17 year old said Smith took her son to work at the farm and tried to get him to perform sexual acts, but he refused. She said many Grove boys work at the farm, and she believes there are more victims.
"This has happened over years, so that's what leads us to believe that there could be possibly more victims out there," Moore said.
The sheriff is urging anyone who might be a victim to please come forward.
