Police say the wheels of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train locomotive went off the railroad tracks in downtown Sapulpa Friday afternoon.

Sapulpa Police said the lead locomotive of a southbound BNSF freight train derailed just north of the Dewey Street crossing.

BNSF spokesman Joe Faust says the locomotive is still upright.  There were no injuries.  Faust says a heavy equipment operator out of Tulsa is working to put the locomotive back on the tracks.  He says there is no word on how long that will take.

Police say freight train is blocking the Hobson Avenue crossing just to the north of Dewey Street.
