Yale Schools are closed for a second day following a positive test for E. coli in the water supply. City Manager Richard Adams said the city is waiting for results on recent samples that have been sent to a Stillwater lab.

The positive sample was taken Friday. The City pulled additional samples  over the weekend which came back negative for the bacteria.

The results of four more samples taken Monday are still pending. Adams believes the latest test results will be back Tuesday afternoon.

Meantime, residents are under a voluntary boil order.

"I just hate it for the citizens, I really do," Adams said. "We really believe we have a case of cross contamination."

Adams said his understanding is that the school system is waiting to be cleared to hold classes by the state Department of Health.

"The superintendent and school board have worked with us just great," he said. "There's just a lot of precautions taken in schools where you're dealing with the safety of your children."

News On 6 will check back with this city this afternoon. They are also posting test results on the city web site and Facebook page.
