Tahlequah Police arrested a man they say assaulted another man using a syringe.

Officers booked Jimmy Dale Briggs Jr. on complaints of assault and battery with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, first degree burglary and threatening to perform violent acts to a police officer and family, according to the Tahlequah Daily Press.

Briggs broke into a room at the Oak Park Motel at 706 East Downing Street and stabbed a man repeatedly in the face, neck and back with a syringe, according to police.

He also tied a rope around the man's neck, threw a lamp at him and stole several items from him including cash and identity cards, an arrest report states.

Officers tracked Briggs down to an alley behind a Braum's on Thursday, April 10, the Daily Press reports. One of the arresting officers said Briggs was "bellicose" and threatened him and his family during the arrest.
