A man is dead after a shooting in a Tulsa shopping center on Wednesday and with the help of witnesses, police said they already have made an arrest.

Yantis "Yacht" Young, 35, reportedly admitted to pulling the trigger, but said it was self defense, police said.

Police were called to the Gilcrease Hills Shopping Center in the 2300 block of West Edison Street after witnesses said they heard gunshot about 7:20 p.m.

Officers on the scene said a 39-year-old man, identified as Steven Harris, was sitting in a white SUV when another vehicle pulled up next to him. Witnesses told police there was a verbal argument, then they heard two gunshots and saw the second car drive away from the scene.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.

Young didn't go home, but called a bail bondsman, who alerted deputies. About two hours after the shooting, Young turned himself in to the Tulsa County jail, but he was booked for first-degree murder at the Osage County Jail.

Police said it wasn't a chance encounter that led to the murder. Harris' girlfriend told police Young threatened Harris earlier in the day, and the two men reportedly both frequented the liquor store in the shopping center.
