Senior center fielder Cierra Hughes had two RBI and scored a run to lead the 15th-ranked Tulsa softball team to a 4-1 victory at Arkansas Wednesday evening at Bogle Park.

Senior Aimee Creger (17-1) earned the complete-game win for the Golden Hurricane (36-4). She struck out eight batters and scattered five hits and five walks. The lone run Creger allowed was unearned, extending her streak to 39.0 innings without allowing an earned run, dating back to March 16.

Tulsa totaled nine hits in the game, led by Hughes' 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Junior first baseman Julie Kernen had an RBI and scored once, while junior left fielder Erica Sampson and sophomore Jodi Edmiston each scored a run.

The Hurricane took a 3-0 lead with three runs in the third inning. Hughes hit a two-run triple to right field, and scored on an error by the shortstop. TU added an insurance run in the seventh on Kernen's RBI single up the middle that scored Sampson, who singled to lead off the inning,

Arkansas (24-18) scored their run in the bottom of the third when center fielder Stephanie Canfield singled home left fielder Jennifer Rambo. Rambo, who reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and moved to third when the throw to second caromed off her helmet into right center field.

Razorback starter Kimmy Beasley (3-4) took the loss. She pitched 3.0 innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits and struck out three batters.

The Golden Hurricane returns home this weekend to face East Carolina at the Collins Family Softball Complex. The teams play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., and a single game at noon Sunday.
