A mother and child are safe after being kidnapped and assaulted over the weekend, according to police.
The victim told officers her husband broke into her house on Friday and hid. When she returned home that evening, he kidnapped her and her child, according to police.
According to the police report, he eventually stopped at the Bass Pro Shop in Broken Arrow. The woman took her child and ran into the store where she screamed for help. Police say her husband drove away.
He was arrested by Cherokee Nation Marshals in West Siloam Springs Saturday night and returned to Tulsa.
Police identify the suspect as Brian Korona, 40.
The victim told officers Korona had planned to take her and the child to New York state.
Brian Korona was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of second-degree burglary, kidnapping, domestic assault and battery by strangulation, first-degree rape, possession of a stolen vehicle and violations of a protective order.
Jail records show he is being held in lieu of $435,000 bond with a court appearance set for February 17, 2014.
