Investigators had found their jail uniforms behind an abandoned Mayes County home.

Wolf was being held for armed robbery, and Anderson was in for rape.

The Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore said the pair removed the steel grate from a window, and used the grate to break through the glass.

"Inmates in a jail are locked down basically 23 hours a day," Sheriff Harlan Moore said. "They have nothing but time and that's all they do is think how to get out of here."

The pair is in the Mayes County jail. The sheriff hasn't decided whether or not to bring them back to Delaware County.
