Some changes are being made to the way green waste is picked up in Tulsa.

The TARE board voted Tuesday afternoon to suspend green waste stickers. The sticker cost .50 cents and indicated that the resident wanted their green waste to go to a mulch site.

Green waste will continue to be picked up, just without the sticker.

Tulsans will need to place their leaves and limbs on the curb in clear plastic bags or in 2-feet by 4-feet bundles for city workers to pick up.

Karen Gilbert with the Tulsa City Council, said, "We're Green Country, so let's keep it green."

In the meantime, the TARE board is considering recommendations made by a citizens task force on a more permanent and cost-effective plan for picking up green waste.
