If you've ever come back to your car and found an unwanted note from law enforcement, there's some money-saving news from the City of Tulsa.

Starting January 17 and running through February 7, drivers with unpaid parking tickets in Tulsa can get "parking ticket amnesty." That means you can pay the face value cost of the ticket only without having to pay late fees or court costs, according to a news release from the City of Tulsa.

There are nearly 19,000 unpaid parking tickets in municipal court files, the release states. Parking ticket can become increasingly costly if drivers continue to ignore the citation.

Anyone who believes they may have an outstanding parking citation but no longer has the ticket can call 918-596-7761 to find out. Be sure to have your car's license tag number handy when you call.

Cited drivers can pay the ticket with cash, check or credit card at the cashier's window at City Hall, 175 East 2nd Street, or at Tulsa Municipal Courts on the second floor of the Police-Courts Building, 600 Civic Center.

The amnesty is for parking tickets only - not for moving violations or any other kind of citation.
