Airline passengers traveling through Tulsa International Airport over the next 18 months will have to put up with a major renovation project in Concourse A.

TIA officials say the first change passengers will notice is Delta Airlines has been moved from Concourse A to gates 7, 9 and 11 in Concourse B.

American will stay in Concourse A, however they will relocate one gate.

Officials say the moves are necessary in order to begin the renovation of the 40-year-old Concourse A.

Renovation work will mirror changes finished last year to Concourse B and will include replacement of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing that supports the concourse.

Officials says passengers arriving and leaving from Tulsa International will see expanded gate areas, additional power outlets, new restrooms and atrium lighting like what is now in Concourse B.

The $23 million project is funded by passenger facility charge of $4.50 per ticket that is added to every departing ticket sold from Tulsa International.

When completed, the renovated concourse will house Delta, American, and Allegiant airlines.
