Freezing rain and a tree limb caused damage to a Tulsa woman's car early Saturday at the Autumn Woods Apartments.
Sharon Cook said she heard a loud bang just after 5 a.m. outside her apartment at 51st and Utica. When she looked outside, she saw a tree limb covering her car.
Neighbors and photographers from News On 6 helped her free her Chevrolet HHR, she said. They scraped just enough ice off the windshield to be able to get the car to a safer location.
"Without those news mens' help, the neighbor upstairs could have never got my car backed up. They helped guide him to a safe place to park my car," she said.
"I'm just thankful they helped me get my car out from under there."
A few minutes after photographers left, Sharon and her neighbor walked back towards her apartment - and an even larger limb crashed down.
"You can't even hardly get into our building now," she said.
Sharon is thankful she had help - and has good insurance.
