The City of Tulsa spends millions each year on salt and sand to treat icy roads, but if we could predict more accurately when to apply the treatment, it could save a lot of taxpayer money.
The combination of freezing temps and a little moisture often equals an accident, but what if you could predict when that stretch of road was going to freeze and treat it ahead of time, reducing the hazard?
A study has begun in Tulsa to see if that's possible.
