If you're in need of a quick $20,000, you may want to practice your half-court shot.
Thunder fan Cameron Rodriguez hit the half-court heave Monday night at the Thunder's game against the Denver Nuggets. If that sounds familiar, it's because it's becoming a trend. Rodriguez is the fourth fan to make a half-court shot since March 5 of this year.
But of all those thrilling moments, one stood out from the rest. A 24-year-old named Justin Dougherty from Missouri nailed his attempt on March 24 in a game against the Portland Trailblazers, but it was the aftermath that stood out the most.
After Dougherty hit the shot, he sprinted across the court to embrace his girlfriend and then returned to the court for a big surprise. Thunder star Kevin Durant ran to Dougherty and jumped into his arms, tackling the Springfield, Mo. native to the floor in a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Call it foreshadowing, but eight months after the big shot, Dougherty is back in Oklahoma City as a multimedia journalist here at News 9.
Dougherty expressed his excitement to serve the OKC community.
"I never thought I'd be back here," Dougherty said. "But I'm beyond excited to start the next chapter of my life here in Oklahoma City."
