Judge Sentences Bartlesville Man To Life For Killing Grandmother

A Bartlesvile man convicted in September of beating his grandmother to death was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday.

A Bartlesvile man convicted in September of beating his grandmother to death was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday.

A jury found Brandon Capps, 21, guilty of first degree murder in the death of Clara Jean Hammer and recommended he serve life in prison.

A Washington County judge affirmed the jury's recommendation.

The jury also found Capps guilty of five other counts, including unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful receipt of proceeds, petty larceny, driving without a license and possession of a controlled substance.

The judge sentenced Capps to 30 months in prison on each count.
