A Broken Arrow man was arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after running a red light and colliding with another vehicle late Tuesday.
Tulsa police said the collision took place at 81st Street and U.S. Highway 169 about 10:30 p.m.
A Toyota Tundra, driven by Isaac J. Turner, 33, ran a westbound red light on East 81st Street and crashed into a small vehicle as it exited U.S. Highway 169 to a green light, TPD said. The driver of the car, 21-year-old Grant Sullivan, was significantly injured, according to police.
Turner ran off, called a relative and said he stole their truck and gave them the address of the crash, police said. The relative showed up to recover the vehicle and provided a description of Turner.
About an hour later, campus police at Tulsa Community College discovered Turner sleeping behind one of their dumpsters and called TPD.
Turner was arrested for hit and run, DUI, driving under suspension and red light violation.
Since 2003, Turner has been convicted in three separate alcohol-related cases in Tulsa County -- two were DUIs and the other conviction was for actual physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated.
