The Tulsa Fire Department says a woman was taken to the hospital after a fire started in her apartment at Stonecrest Apartments at 41st and 129th East Avenue Monday morning.
Tulsa Fire Captain Stan May said the fire started in a downstairs apartment at about 10:30 a.m. From there, the fire spread to a vacant apartment on the second floor and into the attic.
May said the woman's apartment was considered a total loss. He says several other apartments suffered fire, smoke and water damage.
He says the woman didn't appear to be injured, but EMSA took her to the hospital as a precaution.
Captain Stan May says the cause of the fire is under investigation, but it does not appear to be suspicious.
The Tulsa Area Red Cross responded to help residents whose apartments were damaged.
