A semi left the Turner Turnpike and crashed through an Oakhurst neighborhood Sunday afternoon. The truck narrowly missed several houses before coming to a stop.
One homeowner said the 18-wheeler came within a few feet of his children's bedroom at an estimated 60 miles per hour. Another man said he and his wife had to jump out of the way when the truck came to a stop in his yard.
Witnesses say the truck was westbound on the turnpike near the Tulsa gate when it left the highway for unknown reasons. The truck was hauling a forklift and some heavy machinery.
There was a trail of downed trees, fences and truck parts for about a quarter-mile stretch from the turnpike.
The truck driver was taken to the hospital with injuries including cuts to his face.
